About Annie
"Only a few of you will end up as actors, some will leave it behind forever "

After following a clear route through school with the aim of becoming a professional actress, and after two years at the National Youth Theatre, my plans foundered. I was based in the north of Scotland and drama school seemed a very long way away, and horribly expensive.

I drifted into another interest, audio-visual, stage management and technical work, whilst keeping my muse alive through amateur drama.

In 1998, some encounters at GTV in Manchester led me to go back to that first, intended, career, and in September of 2001, after moving to Manchester for good and giving up the day job, I enrolled at the Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre for their 3-year NCDT drama school degree course.

Following that wonderful experience, I, like many others in my year, did not get an agent and made some decisions regarding that great evil: money.

I currently split my time doing IT work, being a freelance technician for the Manchester Metropolitan University, and I am still acting regularly in local productions, whilst seeking representation and work in the wider world.

After a very creative 2005, where I started a theatre company, and wrote and recorded an album with my songwriting partner, I am intending to concentrate on my acting in 2006; I am currently in pre-production to star in a new stage version of the Stephen King book, "Misery", as well as considering a new play by writer Binda Singh.

I am also open to suggestions, auditions and other performance work
