continuing the push
As I continue to push forwards with my acting career, it's probably worth mentioning a couple of things.....
Recordings are progressing as my musical partner, John, and I, continue to work on remixing and re-recording parts of our first, rather hasty album. Some strong songs were, in hindsight, let down by some rushed vocals. So we're sorting all that out now. It'll hopefully be finished by Christmas :)
Also, if you have the time and inclination, you might want to tune into Coronation Street this Bank Holiday Monday (30th). Roy and Hayley Cropper are tying the knot (legally this time) in a posh stately home and yours truly is in attendance.
I'm the one doing my best to be very "method", and getting all emotional during speeches and the like.
pimp my hotpotHow do people keep up with all the online social sites these days? I almost forgot to blog on my own website! I'm in the Chorlton Players' new show "Pimp My Hotpot" tonight and tomorrow night doing a bit of comedy and a bit of singing with my bandmate, John Beresford....(first live gigs!) Tickets are £7.00 (and £5.00) and for that you get two and a bit hours of entertainment plus a healthy dose of meaty or veggie chilli! Tickets available on the door or online from www.chorltonplayers.com
chorlton arts radioThe Chorlton Arts Festival is running an internet-based radio station during the festival, featuring music, plays and interviews. Set up in a shop in Chorlton Precinct, the station is broadcasting a varied programme of music, chat and drama during the arts festival. I'm appearing in several of the Afternoon Plays, in a variety of small and large roles. If you're interested, the one's I'm in most are: "Reginald Fink" on Tuesday the 19th of May, and "The Early Bird Bunch" on Thursday 27th May. Also, my radio play "The Hitch-Hiker" will be broadcast on Friday the 28th. You can listen online on the Chorlton Arts Radio website. These plays and others will be available for streaming from here soon after the end of the project. new albumI've kinda forgotten about this site really, as I have been putting all my efforts into the Beresford and Wallace website.
The upshot is: We released the album! Rather than duplicate everything here, I heartily encourage you to visit the website to have a browse, listen to the new tracks and generally have a play around...
Hey, we're even on iTunes these days... almost a real band!
second album recordingsFollowing a four year gap since the first album 'Suburban Nostalgia', I'm finally in the studio, recording vocals with John for the second album 'Weird and Wonderful', which should be out in the New Year - not in the shops, but, you know, just... out! :) |
